Getting ready for Camp 1 - 6200m

Well, it's already too long since we're waiting for the good weather in the BC. But that is a part of the high altitude waiting "game". We'll try to seize the first opportunity to go up. In the meantime we sorted out the gear we are going to use next and made some final adjustments (like repairing Pawel's high altitude mittens :) )

The Russian team went up today ( weather was fairly good when they left, started snowing after about three hours, and still counting) even if their ropes and snow bars (protection gear), as well as ours, had not arrived yet. We also gave them 100m of static rope but I think this will not be of much help since they do not have the means to fix it.

We chose to wait till our protection arrives, having in mind that the route to Camp 1 goes over some steep sections that will be dangerous to climb unprotected with a heavy load on our backs.

At the time of writing, going up tomorrow might be a realistic option.
